BUS447 Business Law IThis course (required of all students majoring in programs in the Department of Business, as a core course) is open to any student with an interest in learning about the application of business law in their daily lives. No previous business courses need have been taken but students should be in their Junior or Senior year. This course may also be of particular interest to those considering law school after graduation and to those who may be considering establishing their own business some day. What does it cover? The course covers 4 broad business law areas:
Legal terminology is an important part of the course since words in a legal context have very precise meaning which may be very different from the common meaning of words. Words which are different in a legal sense that quickly come to mind are 'material' and 'consideration'. In order to assist the students in learning legal terminology, I have developed a comprehensive program which will serve as a tutor. You can learn words at your own pace. Before you can participate in the GDOC Domino Discussion Forum, you must have a GDOC account and password. This will have been provided by computer services. |
